Accountants in Ruislip

Ken Accounting are accountants for Ruislip landlords, sole traders and limited companies, a short trip from our office in Uxbridge. Whether you let a flat off the High Street, run a shop in Ruislip Manor or work for yourself from home in South Ruislip, we can look after your tax on a fixed fee. We have been helping clients in HA4 and across West London since 2007.

Accounting for Ruislip businesses and landlords

Ruislip is largely residential, with its business life centred on the High Street, Victoria Road in Ruislip Manor and the shops and units around South Ruislip. Many of the people we speak to here run small businesses, work for themselves, or own one or more rental properties.

Landlords in Ruislip

If you let property in Ruislip, your rental income needs to be reported to HMRC, and the rules have become more involved in recent years. Mortgage interest is no longer deducted from rental income in the way it once was, and from April 2026 Making Tax Digital applies to many landlords.

Under MTD for Income Tax, landlords and sole traders with qualifying income over £50,000 must keep digital records and send quarterly updates to HMRC. The threshold falls to £30,000 from April 2027 and £20,000 from April 2028.

Qualifying income is your total income from self-employment and property before expenses. That means a landlord with rent from a Ruislip property and a self-employed income on the side may cross the threshold sooner than expected.

We help Ruislip landlords to:

  • Prepare and file their self assessment tax return, including rental income
  • Claim the right expenses and work out what can and cannot be deducted
  • Check whether and when MTD applies, and set up compatible software
  • Send MTD quarterly updates on their behalf
  • Plan ahead before selling a property or changing how it is owned

Local businesses

For Ruislip shops, trades and service businesses, we handle the everyday accounting so you can concentrate on your customers. That might be a sole trader’s tax return, a small company’s year-end accounts, or quarterly VAT returns.
